Paul Smith, MA
Paul Smith, MA, is the Director of the Prescott College’s Centaur Leadership Service. He brings over 25 years of experience in the field of adventure based experiential education and oversees a unique Masters Program in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Equine Assisted Mental Health.
As a Faculty member of Prescott College Paul Smith has taught courses that bridge Human Development and Adventure Education for 9 years. With a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from The Naropa Institute and over 25 years in Adventure-based Education serving a wide variety of populations, Paul has spent the past 7 years developing curriculum working with horse to help teach relational leadership skills.
Paul established the first Masters Program in Counseling Psychology that specifically focuses on Equine Assisted Mental Health. As a lead reviewer for Association of Experiential Educator’s (AEE) Accreditation Program, Paul has served on reviews for a dozen AEE member programs. Paul is a member of both Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association ( EAGALA) and the Equine Facilitated Mental Health Association (EFMHA).
