WHO WE ARE
FOUR LEGGED FACILITATORS
Minnie
“Valentina” is such a pretty name, too bad our beautiful little girl’s moniker has morphed from Min to Minnefred to “Fred” and Freddie!
Fred can be very sweet, waiting at the gate for her “scratches” and some lovin’ before heading out to join the rest of the herd. She is also strong-willed and determined – a great combination of traits for working with people. Fred has a lot of depth, an “old soul” of sorts who is generous in sharing her wisdom when people take the time and attention to learn from her. She’s not quick to seek approval from people and reserves her affection for those she genuinely trusts.
Partnering with a miniature horse typically reduces people’s fear about getting physically hurt or kicked; more importantly though, we find that these pint-sized horses help people learn to focus and pay close attention to detail.
They are incredible teachers which can facilitate metaphors about relationships with students, employees, or family members where the needs and wants of people lower on the food chain (or hierarchy) are often not heard. Size does matter, but it’s not the size of the horse that matters, it’s the size of the heart, the amount of respect, trust, and authenticity that show up big in equine assisted work!
