WHO WE ARE

Kaleidoscopians (those who work at Kaleidoscope) are individuals who share a set of common values and beliefs.  These core values allow us to come together for the benefit of our clients, ourselves, our horses, and the greater good:

Authenticity
We “show up” real, authentic, and true.  One of our over-arching objectives is to create an environment that supports the search for an authentic self.  We design nurturing spaces which seek to eliminate judgmental attitudes and encourage people to explore their assumptions, beliefs, and mental models.  The continuous and evolving journey of authenticity begins with self-awareness and by learning to listen with your heart.

Horses
Horses are our partners and co-facilitators in the work we do, we do not consider them tools nor do we “use” them.  For more about horses and why we partner with these wonderful four-legged facilitators, see “what we do” (Hyper-LINK)

Safety
We take safety very seriously and work diligently to provide an emotionally and physically safe environment for participants and for horses.  We follow the Noah Rule: predicting rain doesn’t count, building the ark does.  We “build arks” by sharing information about horse behavior, understanding the therapeutic process, and continuously focusing on safety.  Our program elements are “challenge by choice” and therefore optional.  We encourage all participants to take responsibility, care, and pay attention to the needs of others.

When the Student is Ready . . . the Teacher Appears
One of our ultimate goals, regardless of the program design and stated objectives, is to help people learn. That learning may or may not take place in our arena; we recognize that often the learning insight or “aha” comes later, and that we are planting seeds for future growth.  Working from a learner-centered perspective, we are partners with participants in the learning process, ever seeking greater understanding and increased awareness.

Walk our Talk
We believe that in order to earn your trust and respect, we must model the behavior we encourage.  That’s not always easy, it means that we acknowledge and learn from our mistakes, apologizing when we screw up (which we hope isn’t very often!).  Kaleidoscopians are not interchangeable; we each bring a unique perspective, individually seeking to live consistently with our personal values.

Do you see life like an ever-shifting kaleidoscope;
a slight adjustment and the patterns alter?
Can help you celebrate the change…

"If we are going to reform the world, and make it a better place to live, the way to do it is not with talk. . . .the place to improve the world is first in one's heart and head and hands and work outward from there!" -- Robert Pirsig
