Andrews University Roundtable

RegisterThere is no fee for this event. Pre-registration is available.

Who:

Andrews Leadership Roundtable participants (and their significant others) who seek new learning experiences, challenging themselves, and identifying mental models and shifting paradigms. Up to 20 volunteers can join AU Leadership faculty volunteers Dr. Loretta Johns and Dr. Shirley Freed in experentially learning through Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). Everyone is welcome to observe and share in the discussions following the exercises!

What:

Participate in an equine learning activities that will focus on an element (from team building to focusing on a specific competency or two) of the Andrews Leadership program. The specific exercises and goals of the activities will be determined by the participants - simply email Tracy at tweber@myklc.com with information about your areas of interest.

To learn more about EAL, check out the klc website or ask Tracy in your email.

When:

Tuesday, July 15, 2003 following the last program of the day, from 6 p.m.- approximately 8 p.m.

Where:

We're still working out the details, though we expect the program will take place outside in a grassy area very near the Mendel Center, with a back-up plan in case of bad weather at a nearby indoor arena. The actual activities will take place inside a 60' roundpen (a portable pen with panels and a gate) that Tracy and Stacie will bring with them.

Why:

Andrews Leadership program promotes the value of team learning (regional groups), experiential learning (the job-imbedded nature of the program) and the importance of a personal vision. Equine Assisted Learning is a powerful (and fun) tool for personal development and growth touching these areas - it's experiential team learning!! Through the help of the Andrews program, Tracy created and launched Kaleidoscope Learning Circle, llc. This is her path, from personal vision, (an idea on paper) to the reality of following her dream and working to make it come true!
